The Wizard design team includes Mark Fletcher and David Dobbs. Both of these men have a very long history in developing extremely sophisticated electronic control systems for a wide range of industry sectors. Mark is responsible for all hardware issues while David is responsible for all software issues. Together, as many of their past and existing customers have found, these two make a formidable team.

Nothing they create is allowed to go into production until they are satisfied they have achieved perfection.

All of us at Wizard are vitally concerned with the rights and ability of future generations to enjoy our planet as we do now.

Although Power Wizard's primary reason for existence is to significantly reduce the power consumption costs to all electricity users, world-wide, we remain aware that such reductions will have a dramatic impact on the future creation of greenhouse gas emissions.

If all New Zealanders, using Power Wizard, can reduce their electricity consumption by just 100 kilowatt-hours (average) per month, that means we will all be a part of stopping a further 25 million kilograms of Greenhouse gases entering our planet's atmosphere, every month!

But we know that by using Power Wizard to its maximum value, most households can save well over 300 kilowatt hours of power-use, per month. That means the owners of Power Wizard will save a vast amount of money, and also reduce our atmospheric pollution by a massive 75 million kilograms per month.

NB: These figures are based upon the New Zealand national average of 250 grams of greenhouse gas created for each kilowatt-hour of electricity consumed.

Most of our (New Zealand's) power is generated from Hydro schemes. Imagine the effect Power Wizard will have when used in countries such as Australia!

Unfortunately, Australians are running out of water and are becoming more and more reliant upon coal-fired generation.

Coal-fired generation is reputed to create a massive 8 kilograms of greenhouse gas for every kilowatt-hour of electricity produced.

What are our options in New Zealand?

Our population is increasing, as is our use of power, per person (up to 50% of which is wasted power).

We can either start reducing consumption or start facing some awful truths. Those awful truths are:-

1. Destroying more beautiful valleys to create more hydro schemes.

2. Build more coal-fired generators.

3. Build nuclear power stations.

4. Fund various natural-resource generators for the sole purpose of pumping water, spent through the hydro system, back into the lakes.

The immutable fact is, we are running out of gas. Even so, gas generation is a very pollutive source of power.

5. The very best option at the moment is to conserve.

But it is extremely hard to conserve unless we can all be kept always informed of our consumption.

Heaven forbid! Let us all confess we are human and that we can lose focus, that we can make mistakes, that we can forget to turn off a whole range of appliances. Let us confess that even our best intentions can be led astray in this busy world of ours.

We live in a frenetic environment. We all have to try to keep thinking of twenty things at once.
